The secret to a good scarecrow is to change the clothing/location every couple of weeks. We can't move Green Man but we change his/her garments regularly. Other forms of bird scarer include using cut-outs of predatory birds, plastic snakes and things that move randomly in the breeze but the key is always the same: change the scarer every 14 days or so because familiarity breeds contempt!
