Today's harvest

From my new plot - who'd have thought it?

1. Grape thinnings to make vine jelly (delicious, but you only get a couple of small jars a year)
2. Apples for chutney.

I'm thrilled that plot 103 is turning out to be productive already. But just don't ask about the weeds, the old baths, or the voodoo doll-heads.

Delina - the apples are cookers; there is an eater too, but it's on the boundary and our neighbours have been pruning it so it counts as theirs.

Tanya - our vine is big, old and ugly and not particularly productive, but I hope it will be better by next year. Vine jelly recipe to follow when I've road-tested it with English grapes, only made it with French grapes in past and they have more tannin and pectin so I need to check if it works with these too.
